Hi studio families, Welcome to Season 9! Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another year, we can’t wait to welcome you into the studio. Here’s everything you need to feel ready for our first week together. Come early. Settle in. Let’s dance.Please arrive 10 minutes before your class so your dancer has time to get settled, change shoes and be ready when class begins. Classes begin September 14; attend on your dancer’s scheduled class day.
Your new registration portalAs a reminder, please use the Family Portal link in your earlier registration email to access your family’s registration and membership information. If you haven’t already set up automatic tuition payments, please add a payment method in the portal. If your automatic payments are already set up, your saved payment method will be used for monthly tuition. Can’t find your portal link or need a hand? Ask at the desk and we’ll help you get started. Lobby & preschool remindersPlease limit attendance in the lobby to one parent per child, as it can get quite busy. Preschool parents must remain at the studio if their child is not potty trained. Entering & leaving classEntering: Teachers will call out the class name when they are ready. Students are welcome to line up at the studio door while they wait. During class: Parents are welcome to leave the facility once their child is in class and return at the end. Preschool parents must remain at the studio if their child is not potty trained. Leaving: Please come inside to pick up your child after class. Teachers will call out student names and release each child only when they see a parent. Watch your dancer remotelyFamilies can watch remotely using our Wyze Cam app. Please ask at the desk for setup and access instructions. Dress code by disciplineWhy we have a dress codeOur dress code helps keep students safe. Clothing that fits well lets teachers see alignment and helps students move freely without fabric getting in the way. The correct footwear—or bare feet where required—supports the movements practised in each class. Secure hair keeps vision clear, and removing jewellery reduces snagging and injury risks. For aerial silks, smooth clothing without zippers, clips or buttons also helps protect the fabric from damage. Dress code is applicable to all genders. Find your dancer’s class below, then check the requirements for their level. The right attire supports safe movement and helps teachers see alignment clearly. Gym / DancePreschool & Parent & Child: Bare feet and comfortable clothing they can move in. Participating parents: Bare feet or socks. No jewellery. BalletPreschool & Parent & Child: Leather or canvas ballet shoes and a leotard, with or without tights. Participating parents wear bare feet or socks. Primary through Intermediate: Leotard, skin-tone tights and skin-tone ballet shoes; or a fitted black tee with black dance leggings, slightly relaxed at the crotch, and skin-tone ballet shoes. No skirt is needed with the tee-and-leggings option. Skirt with a leotard — Junior and younger: Pink circle skirt with an elastic waist. Skirt with a leotard — Elementary and older: Black Capezio 3/4 wrap-style skirt. A shade that reflects you: For Primary through Intermediate, ballet tights and shoes should match your dancer’s skin tone rather than defaulting to traditional pink. This celebrates the full range of our dancers’ skin tones and helps every dancer feel represented in the studio. Hair: Secure bun.   No jewellery. Know your tights
 Why choose convertible tights? They make it easy to switch from covered feet for ballet to bare feet for Acro or other barefoot classes without changing tights. Pull the foot section fully up so the feet are bare for barefoot work, while keeping knees covered. Choose the colour and style required for your dancer’s class; ask at the desk if you’re unsure. TapAttire: Leotard in any colour with full-foot or convertible tights or fitted athletic leggings. Optional tight-fitting short shorts may be worn over tights. An athletic-fit tee with slim athletic pants is also an option. Knees must stay covered; no crop tops. Hair: Sleek ponytail. Primary: Oxford- or Mary Jane-style tap shoes. Junior and older: Black Oxford-style tap shoes. We discourage patent tap shoes. Please choose a matte leather style.   No jewellery. JazzAttire: Leotard in any colour with full-foot or convertible tights or fitted athletic leggings. Optional tight-fitting short shorts may be worn over tights. An athletic-fit tee with slim athletic pants is also an option. Knees must stay covered; no crop tops. Hair: Sleek ponytail. Footwear: Black or skin-tone leather slip-on jazz shoes.  No jewellery. AcroAttire: Leotard in any colour or a straight-cut athletic tee, with stirrup tights or fitted athletic leggings. Optional tight-fitting short shorts may be worn over tights. Knees must stay covered; no crop tops. Hair: Bun. Footwear: Bare feet unless advised otherwise.  No jewellery. Hip HopAttire: Jogging pants, long shorts or loose clothing with a bodysuit, athletic T-shirt or tight-fitting top. Hoodie optional. Hair: Sleek ponytail, secured away from the face. Footwear: Indoor runners or dance sneakers.  No jewellery. Images are illustrative examples. Follow your dancer’s class and level requirements for the correct style and colour. Aerial SilksAttire: Leotard in any colour with long leggings. Safety: No zippers, clips, buttons or other hardware that could catch on or damage the silks. No jewellery at all. Footwear: Bare feet.  Footwear reminderPlease follow the footwear requirements for your class above.  Where to purchaseAll dress-code items are available for purchase at the studio.
